The next meeting of the Midland Woodworkers Association will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, February 21, at Homer Township Hall, 522 N Homer Road, Midland, MI. Topics to be covered at the meeting will be Drawer Construction and Finishing Techniques for rustic decorative signs. These are the same topics that were planned for the January meeting which was cancelled due to inclement weather. Visitors are welcome to attend.
Here are the topics planned for future meetings:
· March 21: Bending Wood & Using Cyanoacrylate Adhesive (aka CA or Superglue) as a Wood Finish
· April 18: Field Trip to Chris Heal’s Woodshop
· May 16: CNC Router Demonstration – Making a lithopane; annual officer elections
· June 20: Annual picnic and member show and tell

The Mid-Michigan Woodcrafters Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Commission on Aging, 2200 S. Lincoln Rd. Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
The meetings discuss various facets of woodworking, such as use of tools, design techniques, construction ideas and finishing tips.
Membership is $15.00 per year. The money is used to purchase supplies to make toys for various Christmas Outreach programs. The club also participates in other community projects including making bookcases and shelves for libraries and schools.

The Midland Woodworkers’ Association (MWA) is a forum for area woodworkers to learn and improve their skills in various aspects of woodworking. Keeping the skill of woodworking alive and helping people to grow and evolve their techniques and breadth of talent is a prime goal of the group. The skill level of the membership ranges from novice to expert.
The MWA was founded in 1984 with the following 5 key goals:
To provide and encourage all phases of woodworking.
To provide sources, information, materials, equipment, supplies and facilities for area woodworkers.
To facilitate communication and cooperation among area woodworkers.

Mid-Michigan Woodworkers Guild - We are a local group of woodworkers who meet once per month for fellowship, sharing of ideas and projects, and to participate in a presentation of relevant woodworking topics. Many of our presenters are professionals in their field. Skill is not a prerequisite to join. We have woodworkers of all skill levels from beginners to seasoned professionals. There is a wide variety of interest some of which includes general furniture construction, bowl turning, pen turning, scroll saw work, hand tools, toys, carving and finishing. If you are a beginner this is a great way to get started, if you already have some skills it is a great way to improve those skills as well as learn some new ones.
